Good morning and thank you so much for calling by to my blog.  Today there is a new challenge at Crafty Sentiments and as it was my turn to host I got to choose the theme.  I went with a photo inspiration and here is the photo:

I think I managed to use all the colours and then tried to make my flowers look like the picture:

I used Annabel Sweet Treat which is available here to purchase. I think I managed to use all the colours.  For the flowers I coloured the edges with Distress Markers to try and make them look like the sweets in the picture, also Annabel is sucking on a lollipop.  The papers are Nitwits From Laughter to Memories.  The sentiment is by Pink Petticoat cut out with a Cheery Lynn tag die.  I have cut the image out with  Dienamics Pierced Oval Stax and matted it onto Spellbinders Floral Ovals.  The border is Dienamics as are the rolled flowers. Butterfly made using MB Pippi and Isabella dies.  Here is another view:

There is a fab prize this week for the lucky winner:

Steampunk Birthday

Good morning I hope you had a lovely weekend and those in the UK are enjoying our long weekend!  I have been MIA because I treated my son and gorgeous grandsons to a weekend away at Alton Towers.  For those of you not in the UK this is a theme park.  We stayed in a themed room at one of the hotels in the park.  Very exhausting but fun I have some pictures at the end of the post.

Today sees a new challenge at Lexi's Creations and the theme for this challenge is Happy Birthday. I decided to do a sort of girly steampunk card:

This is an image that I was lucky enough to win a while back from Stitchy Bear's Outlet - thank you. I had great fun colouring her with my Copics.  The papers are Nitwits Ladies and Gentlemen.  Sentiment is a Waltzingmouse and had been cut using their tag die.  The clock is a die I picked up from the NEC and ribbon from my stash.

If you head over to Lexi's Creations to see what the rest of the DT have done and for more details of the challenge.

Charming

Hello and a happy Wednesday.  A big welcome to my latest follower Villi so pleased you joined me here!  First of I must apologise for not being round but things have been so hectic. Rowan was taken into hospital on Monday.  He had a temperature and when they did bloods on him it was showing an infection.  He had also developed a rash on his chest so I guess you know what's coming next.  They did a spinal tap on the poor little thing to rule out meningitis which fortunately came back negative.  He has been receiving IV antibiotics and responding well to them just not feeding too well but I can't say I blame him with all this going on.  The latest bloods show the infection to be clearing so we are hoping he will be discharged today. He has certainly been through a lot in his first 6 weeks, he is 6 weeks old today.

Now to the reason why I am here - today sees a new challenge at The Paper Shelter and the theme this week is Charming so we want to see at least one charm on your creation.  Here is my card:

I used the gorgeous My Fantasy Pet from The Paper Shelter and it is available here.  I coloured her with my Copics and cut her out.  I followed a tutorial on Splitcoaststampers for a Centre Step Card. The papers are Wild Rose Studio called In Love With Japan.  The ivy is a Marianne die and the butterflies are Impression Obsession.  I got the dragon charms from E Bay, ribbon and acylic flowers from my stash.  Here is another view:

As usual there is a very generous prize on offer to one lucky winner:

Please head over to The Paper Shelter to see what the rest of the DT have done and for some more inspiration.

Sunny Sunday

Good morning hope you are having a spectacular weekend, it is so beautiful and sunny here. We had a lovely BBQ yesterday with Dave's daughter, husband and grandchildren Max and Emma. We had the water slide and water guns out and great fun was had by all.

Today sees a new challenge at Hobbycutz and the sponsor for this challenge is Squigglefly. The theme is Shades of the Same Colour.  We were very lucky to have been given some gorgeous images from Squigglefly to work with here is what I made using browns:

This image is called Blow Me A Kiss and is available here. I decided not to colour her but just added a bit of sepia in my editing software.  I cut the image out using Spellbinders Wonky Rectangles and embossed the frame with a Spellbinders embossing folder.  The papers are from En Francais by Prima.  Sentiment and tag are from Waltzingmouse.  The rosette is made using a Sizzix die with a sparkler from The Hobby House.  The gorgeous laser cut flourish is from Hobbycutz with lots of fab designs to choose from here.
